● Athens is the historical capital of Europe with a long history and splendid monuments.
The tour starts from your hotel; first stop at the superb Acropolis Museum, then walk by the theater of Dionysus and the Herodes Atticus Odeon. From there, climb up to the Acropolis, the site of some of the most important masterpieces of worldwide architecture and art: the Propylaea, the Parthenon, the temple of the Athena Nike and the Erechtheion. Continue by descending towards the Hill of Mars, down to the Ancient & Roman Agora on to Monastiraki Square. Short rest stop for tasting a traditional souvlaki and a glass of wine. Then continue to the Orthodox Cathedral, turn into Plaka's old quarter and reach the Syntagma Square where the Parliament building and the monument of the Unknown Soldier. End of tour.
● Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece with a wonderful setting and an amazing wealth of Byzantine monuments.
The tour starts at the Cathedral church of St. Demetrius; continue downhill to the Ancient Agora and its Museum, on to the Acheiropoietos 5th century Byzantine church, the church of Aghia Sophia, the Rotonda, the Arch of Galerius, the White Tower. Rest stop for a Greek coffee. Walk along the beautiful promenade with its wonderful eclectic buildings to Aristotelous Square, through the busy commercial quarter, by the Holocaust monument towards the old district of Ladadika. Stop for lunch at a traditional restaurant. End of tour.
